The recent Southern Masters Road Relay Championship’s at Rushmoor, Aldershot saw the Masters 40’s team win the Silver medals, the first time since 1999, 26 years ago.
Seb Hoenig (2025 British Masters Half Marathon Champion) got the team off to a great start, right in the mix with a fantastic 5th place and leg time of 19:40.
Matt Risden on leg 2 more than held his own in 5th (21:01) gaining valuable seconds on the leading teams to hand over to Jeremy Curtis for Leg 3 on the penultimate leg. Jez (20:56) quickly moved into the medal positions on the first lap of the 2 lap course and held firm to the end to hand over to Matt Coffey for the final leg.
Matt (21:10) cruised round the first circuit and despite coming under pressure on the second lap had more than enough in hand with a strong finish to take a brilliant and well earned Silver.
