The Men’s V50 team claim Bronze medals at the Southern Masters Road Relays Championships at Aldershot.

It was a good turn out for the Masters red & whites with no less than 18 athletes competing over various Masters age categories.

The M40 team (Andrew Lewis 21:31), (Daniel Hunt 22:10), Kit Lau 21:33), Matt Risden 20:53) & M60 team (Scott Augur Howard Long, Mike Twomey, Noel O’Dowd) both finished a very respectable 8th place in their respective races.

However, it was the M50’s, Emlyn Hughes 21:10, Pete Davis 22:10, James Smith 22:48, Mark Lown 23:31 who all claimed their first Southern Medals of their running careers.
Such was the achievement, it was only the second time an SAC M50 team has won a medal at these Championships, also Bronze back in 1996.

There was also B teams in the M40 category (Iain Cross 22:27, Jonathan Bean 25:51, Peter Haynes 37:30) and M50 category (Alastair Knockton 25:10, Greg Warder 24:10, Andy Morgan-Lee 24:18
