Masters win Bronze at the British Masters XC Relays at Horspath, Oxford

Two storms in as many days just before the British Masters Cross Country Relay Championships couldn’t dampen the spirits of the SAC M55 Masters team as they travelled the relatively short distance to Horspath, Oxford instead of the usual trip to Long Eaton, Nottinghamshire for these championships.

Despite the heavy weather the course underfoot was only a bit slippery on the surface but had a bit of everything from rough country fields to hills and twist and turns in woodland.

Alastair Knockton, Scott Augur, Noel O’Dowd, Howard Long & Andy Morgan-Lee overhauled Halesowen & Vale of Aylesbury for the Bronze medals and equal the clubs best result at these championships from previous years.

Not only was it a great team performance it was also the first National medals of any colour for Alastair & Howard.
