EA Regional Discus Development day

England Athletics is organising a Regional Throws Development day for Discus in Winchester on Sunday 11th January.

This event, aimed at athletes and coaches, aims to enhance technical knowledge across the region and ultimately produce more discus throwers.  It’s particularly suited to younger athletes with a solid foundation in the event, ideally within the U14-U18 age groups or similar.  Coaches are also encouraged to attend.

The day will be held in Winchester and will include classroom-based discussions and an overview of the EA Discus Technical model.  Drills will then be conducted to practise these techniques and an outdoor throws session will follow, providing athletes with individual feedback and recommendations for further development at their clubs.

Coaches are encouraged to actively participate and engage in all aspects of the day.  Questions are welcome!

The event will be led by three experienced coaches, all of whom have worked with athletes who have achieved national medals and coached at international levels.
