Amaya is 3rd in English schools combined events champs
Amaya Scott won her 2nd english schools vest in as many years by coming 3rd in the intermediate girls heptathlon at the English schools combined events championships in Exeter today.
Yesterday, Amaya put in 3 solid performances in the sprint hurdles, high jump and 200m but an oustanding lifetime best of 13.61m in the shor putt put her in 2nd place overnight. A further pb of 5.46m in long jump followed by javelin and 800m saw Amaya post another huge points total of 4822 points for 3rd place and a place in the England schools combined events team for the indoor home international match in December. Amaya also won gold in the team event by leading the Hampshire schools intermediate girls to the team title.
Hannah Childs took team silver as part of the Hampshire schools junior girls pentathlon team and finished in 29th place in the individual event.
