Volunteering   –  The club needs your support

Southampton Athletic Club (SAC) is run by Volunteers, this includes the Committee, Officials,Coaches, including Academy Coaches. They all do a fantastic job in support of the club and their individual roles are defined on the club website.

Without volunteers the club would not be able to function, would not be able to take part and run so many coaching sessions and meetings for the benefit of all club members.

The club appreciates that time is precious, however we need additional volunteers and would ask you to consider putting yourself forward.

If you would like to volunteer in any way to assist the club, we would like to hear from you.

If you are considering becoming an official or a coach the club will support you with the cost of attending the appropriate courses and offer guidance along your journey.

We are holding an introduction to officiating event at the SAC Academy training evening on Wed 17th April 2024 from 5.30 to 7.30 pm. It is informal and will give you knowledge of the various roles of an official.

If you are interested, please contact Hannah Wilson latehannah@yahoo.com

We have The Wessex Young Athletes League, our first home meeting, at Southampton on Sunday April 28th, the first race starts at 10.40 and the meeting will finish around 5pm.

Volunteers are still needed on the day, and we require announcers (to work in shifts during the day), a number of people to assist with assisting with field and track duties, recording results into the Wessex system and runners to collect the results from the officials.

If you are able to attend on the 28th of April in any way, you do not have to spend the whole day, any time will be appreciated, please contact:
