COVID-19 – Return to Activities

Planning for a return to activities

Latest News: As of Monday 29th March the sports centre is open and Active Nation staff are on site. SAC members who have the full membership or facility membership can use the track Monday, Tue, Thur 9am to 9pm (excluding busy times tue/thu eve 6:30-8). Use outside these times is payable to Active Nation.

Kit Sales: The cabin will be open for kit sales in the evening on Tue 30/3 and Thur 1/4

Leagues: Most track and Field leagues have agreed to hold regional fixtures this year and dates are being agreed with most starting late May/early June. We are currently looking for team managers and if a message comes your way please don't ignore it, we really do need team managers. We are pulling together the fixture list and will be planning a series of opens for the coming season which hopefully will get easier as we move through the year and restrictions are eased. The dates will be published on the Fixtures page of the website as soon as they are finalised. A draft is available here:

Our annual Netley 10k has been postponed for another year, we are hopeful it will go ahead next year but for the race to continue we need YOUR support. This is our biggest income generator and it helps to keep the membership fees reasonable. More information will be circulated on this.

Membership Renewals for 2021/22

We are not taking renewals at the moment unless you specifically ask for it. The club committee have decided to wait for the league fixtures and championship organisers, about their plans for this summer and beyond, prior to sending out the SAC membership renewal invitation.  The club will be reviewing the situation mid April, and if news about the competitions, leagues and championships is certain, then we will extend the invitation to renew your club subs at that point.

If you renewed your membership for the 2020/21 season your EA athlete licence will be valid until August 31st 2021. If you did not renew your membership for the 20/21 season and would like to compete soon you will need to contact the membership secretary who will be able to register you. Please be aware that this can take up to one month for members to be fully registered.
