Volunteer of the Year 2020 winner

Southampton Athletic Club chairperson Tracey Jones was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award at the England Athletics Regional Volunteer awards held virtually on Friday 27 November. 

Tracey’s passion and commitment to the club is truly outstanding and she’s done a tremendous job this year navigating the club through the challenging times of Covid19. 

Not only is she a fantastic chairperson she’s also a brilliant coach. She’s done wonders for our academy as well as leading her own successful jumps group.

Nicky Purse one of our academy coaches nominated Tracey – Nicky said "I’ve been volunteering with Tracey for a number of years now and I just wanted her to know how much we all appreciate and recognise all her hard work. I’m so happy that she won – it’s a true testament to what she’s achieved and her dedication to the athletes and Southampton Athletic Club”

Tracey will now be put forward as a finalist to win the prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award 2020 – we wish you all the best.
