Coronavirus Advice from EA

We are keeping a close eye on the advice from England Athletics (EA) and how it may impact on Southampton Athletic Club and the services provided to our members. The advice from EA (updated 12th March) is to carry on as normal and to follow Public Health England (PHE) recommendations to help prevent people catching and spreading COVID-19. A link to the EA advice is below.

At the moment it is very much business as usual but we ask that you are sensible and consider staying away from busy sessions if you are in a high risk category, feel unwell, in close contact to someone with COVID-19 or have been to one of the high risk areas.

We have disinfectant sprays that will be left in the refreshments cabin and the equipment cabin at the track but with the current state of panic in the UK we have not been able to source any additional hand sanitiser and you are advised to carry your own. Hopefully the toilets at the end of the track will be operational again and stocked with hand sanitiser.

We are also looking at our fixtures for Early April and May and have no plans to cancel or postpone but will be making contingency plans should the advice from EA change.

Kind Regards
