Josh breaks club record to take South of England gold

The South of England U15 & U17 championships took place at the Julie Rose stadium in Ashford on the 13th & 14th August and resulted in a number of medals for the club. Josh Wise broke the clubs age group shot putt record to take gold with a putt of 13.80m in the U15 boys age group.  Josh followed this up with a silver in the discus.  Elsewhere in the field, Callum Gregson took U15 boys high jump bronze and Bradley Jenvey was 6th in the javelin.  On the track for the U15 boys James Jerram comfortably qualified for the 1500m final but didn't take his place in the final and Bradley was 6th in his 200m heat. For the U17 men, in the field unfortunately Kieron Apps didn't reach a height in the pole vault but on the track Reiss Jarvis took bronze in the 400m. There were guest events at U13 and for the boys Matthew Dyer took advantage of these to come 2nd in the 800m in a new sub 2 mins 20 sec pb. For the U15 girls in the field Samantha Callaway took away 3 bronze medals in javelin, shot & discus.  For the U17 women, Emma Froome took silver in the shot putt. In the U13 guest events Maisie Jeger won the 800m and was 3rd in both 200m and high jump and Gracie Jenvey was 9th in high jump & 70m hurdles.
