Masters in action in Birmingham

The clubs masters athletes were in action at the British Masters Athletics Federation Decathlon, Heptathlon, throws pentathlon and summer classic races in Birmingham over the weekend. Over 50 man Derek Warn took on the full decathlon which is no mean feat at the age of 50 and finished 6th over the 10 events in trwo days of action. Over 50 women Michelle Wakefield completed the 100m, 200m sprint double on Saturday running a seasons best over the longer distance and septuagenarian Mary Axtell did the same with seasons best times over both distances.
