Five young athletes receive grants from Ron Pickering memorial fund

Those of us who grew up watching We are the champions and Superstars were very familiar with the voice of Ron Pickering but of course it was as athletics coach and BBC athletics commentator that he is most fondly remembered.Reflecting his love for athletics, every year his memorial fund issues grants to apprximately 200 of the countries most promising young athletes aged 15-23 and this years grant recipients include 5 young athletes from the club. These are sprinter Oli Bromby, javelin thrower Jordan Campbell, pole vaulter Andy Douglas and endurance runners Mo & Zak Mahamed.
