Dave Henson awarded podium potential funding by British Athletics

British Athletics announced the selections for its World class performance programme on Monday and it was fantastic to see a Southampton AC athlete amongst the list for the very first time.Funded by the national lottery through UK sport this provides support for athletes with the potential to medal at the olympics.  Those on podium support are recognised as having potential to medal in Rio whilst others like Dave who we should remember is still relatively new to the sport on podium potential support which casts an eye to potentially medalling in Tokyo in 2020. This will mean a great deal to Dave in his aim to improve his 7th place T42 200m world championship finish this year and set his sights on Rio and beyond.
