Ben Brown wins U11 race in 2nd round of Wessex cross country league

The 2nd round of the 4 race Wessex cross country league series took place at Avon Heath near Ringwood on Sunday the 1st November. The official results seem to take an age to come out for this league but have finally been published on the Team Dorset athletics network website. This league is used buy our youngest age groups and 10 year old Ben Brown continued his prolific age group form by winning the U11 boys race although he didn't have things all his own way beating Finn Pardy from Poole AC by 9 secs with the duo well clear of the rest of the field.  George Lambert was 9th with another year in the age group to come and James Moore completed the scorers in 20th to see the team finish 3rd on the day.  Conor Orchard was 31st, Ben Young 34th and Vinny Eshak 35th. Meg Hulbert was 2nd in the U11 girls race to put her in the overall league lead of those having finished in both races.  Kate Jeffery ran a fantastic race to be 3rd with another year in the age group to come and Kiera Bessant completed the scorers in 9th and although we had 3 girls in the top ten this was still only good enough for 2nd place in the team competition on the day behind New Forest Juniors.  Maria Lanza was 10th, Annie Mann 11th, Eve Emm 22nd, Sienna Black 29th, Daisy Millward 30th, Kayleigh Harrison 41st, Milly Hulbert 42nd and Natasha Harrison 46th. In the other age groups, Nathan Travers was 19th for the U13 boys, Olivia Reavey was 12th for the U13 girls with Abigail Warrington in 19th and Stephanie Moore 30th to ensure the team finished 5th.  Phoebe Moriarty-Palios was 5th for the U15 girls, Polly Sandison was 17th and Izzy Bennett 22nd to bring the team home in 3rd.  Hannah Polden was 6th for the U17 women with Anna Reavey in 11th.
