Oli takes 4th in commonwealth youth games
Oli Bromby and Sophie Merritt have both made the long journey to Samoa after proudly winning selection to compete in the England team at the commonwealth youth games.The athletics action got underway overnight with the heats, semi finals & the final of the mens 100m all taking place on day 1. Oli safely made it through heat 3 in 2nd place and repeated that finishing position in his semi-final to qualify for the final. South Africa's Tlotliso Gift Leotlela took the gold medal in a lightning quick 10.20 secs followed by Oli's team mate Rechmial Miller in the silver medal position in 10.39 secs. There was a blanket finish for bronze with 4 men crossing the line together and Cameron Tindle from Scotland just took 3rd place in 10.42 secs, closely followed by Oli in 4th place in 10.45 secs just outside his pb.
Sophie compete's in the discus final which takes place tomorrow (overnight tonight) and shot putt on Wednesday (overnight on Tuesday).
