Zak takes British 3000m title & tops UK rankings
Zak Mahamed won a fantastic battle with local City of Portsmouth AC rival Lachlan Wellington to take the British U15 boys 3000m title in Bedford yesterday.On the first day of the two day U15 & U17 championship meeting, Zak took the race in 9.05.3 to take the title and the no 1 spot in the UK age group rankings, smashing George Butler's club record in the process.
Ellie Hodgson put in 2 fine runs in the U17 womens 100m heat & semi-final to make the 100m final where she placed 7th. Izzy Bryant came through her heat to qualify for the semi-final where she finished 6th.
Reiss Jarvis finished 6th in his U17 mens heat of the 400m and Luke Powell will be back to run today after qualifying for the final of the U17 mens 1500m.
