Groocock takes long jump silver at Island games

The biennial island games this year takes place in Jersey from the 27th June to the 3rd July.James Groocock competing for his native Isle of Wight took Long Jump silver yesterday with an impressive leap of 7.09m.  He was beaten to gold by the athlete from Gotland (large island off coast of Sweden) by just 4cm. Earlier in the week, Garry Newton also competing for his native Isle of Wight came 4th in the mens shot putt.
