Zak & Mo take UK Inter-counties titles

These are heady days for the Mahamed boys.Every race seems to bring another fine performance, another title and another reminder how great it is to have them at the club. Yesterday, it was the turn of Birmingham on a glorious spring day to witness first Zak & then Mo running in Hampshire vests take the UK inter-county title beating the best cross country runners from around the UK. In the U15 boys race, Zak, remarkably still bottom of the age group, took the title by 8 seconds.  In the U17 mens race, Mo took the title by 15 seconds with Sam Costley finishing inside the top 100 in 98th. For the Senior men, Matt Bennett was 60th and Matt Revier was 90th with nearly 300 men finishing the race.  In the U20 mens age group, Abdi Mahamed was 66th and Stephen Simpson finished 87th. For the U13 boys, Toby Hale was 185th with 300 boys finishing the race. In the Senior womens race, Laura Brenton was 65th with 275 to finish, Frances Arnott was 84th in the womens U20 race and in the U13 girls race, Pop[py Wright was the 2nd Hampshire girl home in 82nd and Phoebe Moriarty-Palios was 169th with over 300 girls finishing.
