Douglas vaults to south of England gold

Andy Douglas took the South of England U17 mens indoor pole vault title at Lee Valley yesterday.  Andy needed just 2 jumps to seal the title clearing 3.80m with his first jump and then vaulting 4m with his 2nd, the only competitor to go over the 4m mark.Kieran Apps was 7th in his first indoor event also in the U17 mens pole vault yesterday clearing an impressive 3.20m just 5cm shy of his pb recorded at last years UKYDL National final. On Saturday, Daniel Hoiles improved his pb by a massive 40cm to 2.80m and finished 5th in the U15 boys pole vault final also going to 3rd on the all time club indoor age group record list. Katya Oldfied had a busy Saturday getting through heat & Semi-final to make the final of the U17 womens 300m.  In doing so Katya improved her pb to 42.44 just outside Emily Jenkinson's indoor age group club record.  Katya finished 6th in the final.  She returned on the Sunday to leap 1.60m in the U17W high jump for equal 4th place.
