U20 men take English national 4 x 400m relay title

The U20 mens 4 x 400m relay team of Jason Amartey, David Fisher, Jack Lynch and Ronnie Young took gold in the inaugural English national U17 & U20 relay championships held alongside the national inter-counties track & field championships in Bedford on Saturday. The time of 3.23.11 beat their existing club record and was all the more impressive as Ronnie had been representing Dorset in the 400m earlier in the day and had already run a heat and semi-final in the individual event. We also collected medals in the other two events in which we fielded teams.  The U20 mens 4 x 100m team consisting of Adam Jones, Alex Ruggles, Owen Lawrence & Jason Amartey (again!) took silver in a time of 44.75.  The U17 mens 4 x 100m team consisting of Jones & Lawrence (within their actual age groups), Jake Moseley & Rudy Cemal took the bronze in a time of 44.78 which puts them 2nd on the clubs all time list. In the inter-counties match, Ronnie was 4th in his semi-final representing Dorset running under 50 secs but just missing out on the final but Laura Brenton ran a new pb representing Hampshire in the 1500m coming 5th in 4.33.8 secs.
