Grace and Karla in GB & NI team

Early world leader Karla Drew has been named as part of a 20-strong GB & NI team for the Combined Events International Indoor Match in Sheffield on January 25-26. Drew got her year off to a strong start in Sheffield on Sunday, retaining her women’s pentathlon title with a personal best of 4157 points after adding a centimetre to her high jump personal best in clearing 1.78m and also setting an indoor long jump PB of 5.81m. Grace Clements, the 2010 Commonwealth heptathlon bronze medallist, will join Drew in the senior women’s team. The senior GB teams will face competition from the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands and Spain, while the under-23 and junior teams will go up against Spain and France.
